“8 of us had the pleasure of staying in Dans villa for a weekend, the pictures don’t do it justice. Upon arrival everything was as promised, the rooms where clean and spacious, well furnished throughout with everything you could need. Pool, hot tub and pool table where all enjoyed and the master bedroom terrace was a beautiful area for evening drinks overlooking the golf course. The marina is a 15 min walk or 5 euro taxi away with all the nightlife you could want and then back to the serenity of the villa. All in all would definitely recommend and visit again.”

“All 7 of us ladies throught the villa was perfection. We used the Ed for all of our taxi's as he could seat all of us which others could not, uber wanted us to use 3 cars due to Covid restrictions. Super clean Had everything you would need, even some leftover inflatables. We especially enjoyed the game of, hunt for the cutlery drawer ha ha ha and all felt very daft when we found it. Not overlooked Had no trouble from any neighbours The small local shop jaffa's had everything we needed and was a 5min walk. My favourite part was the balcony covered in pink flowers, where I could chill overlooking the golf course. Due to covid I felt I contacted the property owner a lot, and always got a very prompt reply which in the circumstances was very reassuring. Would love to return”

“We are just back from another fantastic week away in The Old Village. Having previously stayed several times at Casa Oakdene we were certainly not disappointed with Casa Laranjal this year which is superbly appointed and styled very much along the same lines. A great location in a quiet cul-de-sac meant we had a very relaxing week with some great trips out to both the marina and local village restaurants. We made use of the Hot Tub which was a hit with our group and also a couple of BBQ’s which made for some lovely chilled evenings. All in all a great place to stay in a good location with all the facilities anyone could wish for - we certainly hope to return. Many thanks to Dan (& family). Final thanks has to go to Eddie & his wife (who were recommended to us) & looked after all our taxi/transfer needs throughout our stay from pick-up , several outings and then final drop-off for our journey back home to the rain....!! “Just came back from 12 days at Casa Laranjal for my partners 30th. Right from the word go Dan and his family were very accommodating as we wanted to split our stay with friends staying with us the first half and family the second half of the hol. Every request was granted and question was answered quickly and efficiently. We booked it at the start of the year and took a bit of a leap of faith as it was in the middle of a full scale renovation, with only how nice it's sister villa Casa Oakdene was to go by and we were not let down when photos became available of the finished article. It's even better in the flesh! Everything has been done to a high standard with 4 good size double bedrooms, the Master bedroom boasting a huge balcony with tasteful Rattan sun loungers and corner sofa, offering some privacy when staying in numbers. We had five children staying including our own, ranging from age 1-5 and the pool fence is a god send as they could run around freely without having to be chased! The villa is very secure with an alarm, electric gates for the drive and a smaller lockable gate to pass through. At most we had 11 people in the villa and at no point did this ever feel cramped, the downstairs is huge and pool table provided hours of fun. It is a 5 minute walk from The Old Town, which has several bars and restaurants plus a small supermarket, and offers peace and quiet away from the buzz of the Marina (30min walk approx or roughly 6 Euro in an Uber). Happy hour lasts all day till 6pm where you can get a pint of beer for 2.20 or wine for 1.50 Euro! My 3rd stay in Vilamoura and without doubt one of, if not the best accommodation I've ever stayed in. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay and big thanks to the Higgs family for making it that way!”

Close proximity to the Old Village gave us everything we needed without needing to trek too far, although an evening down at the marina was a must! No-one in our group could come up with anything that was either lacking or missing, so it's top marks from everyone for a perfect week - thank-you! (ps: have to mention Eddie the taxi driver who we hadn't called on previously but wholeheartedly recommend having used his services on this trip (00351 911 877 437)). “This is a wonderful villa in a superb location. The house was large enough to accommodate 2 families with plenty of space for everyone to have their own space. The English TV channels were a bonus we didn't expect. The rooms, bedding and outside areas were very comfortable with plenty of shade and an immaculate lawn. The views over the golf course were stunning. It was nice to have the option of air conditioning but the villa keeps beautifully cool and we hardly needed it - just a boost in the bedroom at night although the evenings were lovey and cool. There is a constant breeze which was lovely. It was an easy 5 minute walk to the old village which has a few bars and restaurants and a well equipped, if very expensive (!) mini supermarket. The whole estate is immaculately maintained and surprisingly green for a hot country. You can walk into the main town of Villamoura in around 15 minutes or take a taxi. The land train is super expensive if you are in a large group (£48 for 7 people versus £8 in a taxi). We would highly recommend a trip to Aquashow Water Park (not to be confused with Aqualand) which was great value for money for the 7 hours we easily spent there. The main downside was the aircraft noise as it is on the flight path. There is no maid service but also no cleaning materials for a self clean which was disappointing. The major downside for us, as we were planning on self catering, was that you have to buy absolutely everything from scratch - salt, pepper, herbs, oils and vinegar, washing up liquid, dishwasher powder, loo rolls etc and it got quite expensive. Overall, though, we had a great stay and would highly recommend this villa.”

“This villa is kitted out beautifully but what makes it stand out is the family attention to detail. There is so much space you can always escape to a quiet corner - 4 great sized bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a cloakroom, open plan lounge diner kitchen and a great pool table. The pool, hot tub and garden area are all fab. The cooking and bbq areas can't be faulted. There is a large fridge freezer plus a small fridge too The view of the golf course is great The patio off the master bedroom is just perfect! You can walk to the bakery, the supermarket, great bars and restaurants It has it all!”

“If only the weather could have been as good as the villa, our stay would have been perfect. We were a group of 6 adults and found the villa extremely spacious. It could accommodate another 2 adults with ease. Each bedroom was ensuite which was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the villa was very well equipped. We didn’t use the pool, hot tub and outside seating areas as much as we would have liked, due to the weather but having the table tennis in the basement was a bonus. The restaurants and bars in the Old Village were a casual 5 min walk. We ate there on 2 or 3 occasions and found “happy hour(s)” to be good value. The little shop was well stocked for essentials. 2 of our group golfed at the local course and found it excellent although not cheap. The area was extremely clean and well cared for. Our only niggle was that the WiFi was inconsistent and kept dropping. We couldn’t all be on devices at the same time. We were also concerned that there were damp patches in wardrobes and some walls. The basement smelt a bit damp as well. I would like to return in the sunshine and make full use of the pool, bbq etc All in all, a fabulous villa.”

“For the first time, we decided to book a late holiday in the Algarve at the end of October until the 4th November. Unfortunately Aer Lingus change the date of our confirmed booking from the Sunday to the previous Saturday. That my friends is the end of the bad news as Dan, the Villa's owner changed the date of our booking without any problem. We arrived via Faro Airport to find the most wonderful villa, with all facilities and also spotlessly clean. My wife gave a whoop of delight when she saw the outside seating area. We've stayed in quite a few villas but this was surely the best. The pool, BBQ area, outside seating and general level of equipment and taste shown in this villa made our stay (despite a couple of 'rainy days') a complete joy and wind down. The area is very quiet and safe, with local restaurants bars a short walk away (quite expensive though with the exchange rate). My only quibble was the qualify of the food at the local 'poolside bar' was very poor (but it was end of season). I had a query mid holiday so emailed Dan and he replied within minutes. Villamoura Marina was a 20 minute walk away (or you can get the local Road Train) and was as fun as we remembered from 20 years' ago. We will DEFINITELY be staying here again.”

“We stayed here with family in early April and had a fabulous holiday in this amazing villa. The villa itself is top class, very spacious and comfortable with everything you could need. The games room in the basement was a bonus but rarely used as the sun shone throughout our stay. The pool is a good size as is the hot-tub and having both heated meant there were no ooh, aah moments and meant that there was generally always someone in the pool. The villa is a moments walk from the Old Town with a useful Jafers supermarket and several lovely bars and restaurants. Vilamoura with it's beach and Marina is a pleasant 15 minutes walk away and, after a drink, meal, sunbathe, shop or all of the above, if you don't fancy the walk back there's always a Happy Train to take you back. All in all, an amazing Casa in an amazing setting.”

“We have just returned from a week in Dan's lovely villa.The property is pretty spotless , spacious and practical for family groups.The garden is quiet ,peaceful and not overlooked and we made good use of the heated pool and hot tub also.The villa is located a quiet Cul de Sac close to Old Village which is very pretty with a good small supermarket and few restaurants and bars.We walked to the Marina on one occasion and it is a 20 minute stroll, on that occasion we returned using an Uber which was 5 euros only. Driving to fabulous beaches which have ample parking is 5 minutes. Communication and checking in was very simple and we were delighted to be allowed earlier than stated access as we had an early arrival. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a high quality villa in a great location close to great beaches .Thank you Dan Peter”

“The photos certainly do the villa justice, on arrival everyone was relieved to finally be in the luxurious surroundings of Casa Laranjal. The ability to have the fence installed around the swimming pool meant we could let the little ones roam as they pleased in the garden if there wasn’t always an adult out there which was a huge help. As we explored the villa over the first few days we came across numerous helpful things such as inflatables for the swimming pool, buckets and spades, a large variety of DVD’s in every room which kept the younger of our party entertained. The local amenities in the Old Village came in very useful on a few occasions, although we did venture out to Lidl and another local supermarket to stock up on various bits and pieces. The managing agent, FiveStar were nothing but helpful during our stay and made getting to and from the villa whilst exploring Vilamoura stress free. We had what we thought was a power cut one day however after discussing with FiveStar they immediately reacted and assisted by sending an electrician to our aid. Overall a fantastic villa, fantastic facilities, fantastic location. Will definitely be returning! Thanks Dan and family for creating a superb holiday location.”

“Lovely week in mid February at this property. Beautiful villa, very spacious and child friendly (fully enclosed). The weather was high teens and sunny so we were able to avail of the pool. Note - do pay the heating supplement at this time of year as we did, unless you actually are Bear Grylls . Second note: pool has a slope to about 1.7m, just be aware if children or weak swimmers in party. 5 minute walk to old town, 15 to Marina, very quiet and private (almost eerily so in February, which suited us fine). “Beautifully decorated and very well maintained villa in the very peaceful area of old town Vilamoura. We are a family of 5 and it was actually a wee bit too big to be honest, not that this will put us off staying again...we will just have to bring more family/friends with us next time! The downstairs play room area was great for the rainy day we had and the pool/hot tub was brilliant, with the kids spending a huge amount of time in both! The only negatives we had were that the area isn't really suited to young children, but you're only a short drive/walk to the centre of Vilamoura. There is a small tourist train that passes every couple of hours that takes you from the villa into the town and back if you get off in town. The alarm went off on our first night, which turned out to be faulty but was sorted within the hour by a very helpful lady and the owner himself. The villa boasts four large bedrooms all with their own en-suite shower/bathrooms. There is a huge living, dining and kitchen area with a utility room which includes a washing machine and tumble dryer, great for 3 messy children. The outside space has 7 Sun loungers, a lovely eating area which seats 8 people, a BBQ, large swimming pool, hot tub and a covered comfy area which is lovely in the morning sunshine! We would definitely recommend the villa to anyone wanting a luxury villa in a beautiful setting with a shop, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance. “The villa is beautiful and extremely comfortable. It is modern, private and very clean. We took our two adult children, their respective partners and our 18 month old Granddaughter and the villa worked well for all of us. We paid extra to have the pool heated which meant we were all able to use it every day and our Granddaughter became quite the little water baby. The Old Village is very peaceful and well kept, it’s a lovely gentle walk to the local supermarket and various restaurants. Vilamoura Marina is about 20 minutes walk away. Getting a taxi back in the evening, after eating at one of the many wonderful restaurants, was never a problem. We loved it so much we are busy planning a return trip!!”

“Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time. The villa was extremely well maintained and had plenty of room for the 10 of us. It was an ideal location for us in that it was right next to the old village but wasn’t noisy in the slightest. The nearby “train” stop also provided useful access to the marina area (although we only used it the once). We really enjoyed our time around the pool and made good use of the BBQ area. The villa was well equipped in terms of glasses, plates etc, although we did need to get to a supermarket first thing to pick up some essentials (eg toilet roll, dish cloths, bin bags, salt & pepper). Having a car was very useful in that regard. Overall, we had a fantastic time and we would highly recommend.”

“We stayed at Oakdene during August 2018, with 3 families under the one roof, and the villa was perfect. Plenty of space and the rooms and kitchen are well equipped. It's just as you see in the pictures - beautifully decorated, modern and clean! The pool fence was a great extra too as it provided us with peace of mind with the children being outside in the mornings and later at night. The walk to the marina is c.15mins and a supermarket is just 5mins away too. We had a great stay and would thoroughly recommend this villa.”

“Where do I start? At the beginning.... Booking the villa with the owners was absolutely seamless. Friendly, quick and accurate responses to all of our questions and great communication throughout the whole process. Arriving at the villa did not disappoint. I booked this on behalf of my family for my Dad's 60th birthday. The pictures looked incredible but in reality it was even better!! Every part of the villa to the tiniest detail has been refurbished with fantastic taste and style - we felt settled within a few hours. The ease of getting in and out the villa was fine - we felt very secure in the villa all day and night with the electric gates and alarm system. The location is perfect! We have stayed in Vilamoura before but at the marina and never explored the Old Town. We're glad we stayed here as it presents you with even more options for dining and drinking and it is quieter too! We would definitely look to book again when we have a big group of us going off on holiday!”

“Our party of eight ladies had a great week at the villa. The villa is modern and clean, and has been very well equipped with all modern gadgets. Great to have an en-suite in every bedroom. We spent our days by the pool(we paid a small charge for it to be heated , well worth it). We had a few requests and Dan and his management team were very quick to sort these out for us (thank you!!). Great location, beautiful villa. Would highly recommend, we most certainly will be back.”

“We stayed in this newly refurbished villa for a week in March. I have to say it is absolutely Fabulous. The bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas are finished really stylishly and the kitchen has everything you need to cater easily for a large group. There were 8 of us (4 adults and 4 kids) and there was always room for people to find a corner for some quiet time. The xbox in the bedroom upstairs proved particularly popular with the children, the pool table downstairs popular with the bigger kids. The weather was in and out during our stay, at the beginning of the week it was cooler and the heating worked well and we were comfortable. We spent evenings around the dining table or watching TV. The English Sky TV was great, as was the fact that the kids could hook up their Netflix accounts! Later in the week the sun came out and we were able to make use of the outdoor areas. The views of the golf course are beautiful, and the grounds of the villa itself are also fabulous. The hot tub was great and enjoyed many afternoons sitting in it. The upstairs terrace area off the master bedroom is also great, a place to escape to with a book and it's nice that you can still see the kids in the pool downstairs. There is a pool fence, we didn't use it as our kids can all swim but I can imagine it would give peace of mind for anyone with very young children. The area itself is also lovely , a short walk to a local shop and some simple bars and restaurants and a short taxi to the marina where there is more choice. You could walk it (we didn't with the children) but we just used Uber, there always seem to be ample cars. All in all a fantastic family trip - thanks to Dan & Jo for letting us use your beautiful Villa!!”

“We wished to celebrate with our children and partners and best friends (a total of four adult couples) and had not visited the Algarve for over 25 years. We researched locations and accommodation and Casa Oakdene met our requirements; more than that, it has exceeded them. All four bedrooms are spacious with very nice en-suite facilities and the reception areas are very welcoming. The lovely pool and sun verandas are well-placed with copious sunshine and suitable shade. The villa is very nicely located close to the old village of Villamoura but close enough to the harbour and beach to allow frequent visits. We mixed fine dining with home barbecues and both were equally enjoyable. We had a delightful time.”

“We, being a group of girls celebrating our 50th year of existence, stayed at Casa Oakdene in March. There is nothing I can say to fault this beautiful villa; all I can do is praise it. The villa itself is very modern and decorated to a high standard. The design and layout are perfect and there is so much room too. On top of that, the location is perfect. The Old Village is so picturesque and well presented and is literally a very short walk from the villa. If you wish to venture a little further down to the marina or indeed the beach, then they are also in walking distance and can be done in about 15 minutes. There are ample bars and restaurants to choose from, so you will be spoilt for choice on where to eat and drink. We requested pool heating and the use of the hot tub that were the cherry on top of the cake for our stay. I can honestly say that my friends and myself had a truly wonderful time here and will not forget the laughter and fun we had together, all thanks to the location and amenities of this little gem, Casa Oakdene. Thank you to the Higgs for a truly wonderful and memorable stay. Definitely recommended.”

A short walk to the Old Village which was like being transported to another world.
